Hi ij floorball girls! This blog has been dead for quite sometime ever since the Adivs has ended for us all. So, here am i, your pinky captain (hehe), would like to reminisce the things that have happened and would like to give some words of encouragement to the J2s as well as the J1s, obviously :)
J2s.. Do you remember yourself last year, when you watched the seniors do their drills with coach jamie while we we at the other side of the court learning how to hold the stick, awkward moments with one another, shy to communicate, so stiff with the floorball stick? its familiar isnt it? and the J1s, this might not be too alien to you guys too! :)
Aww, no worries, those days were funny if you asked me. Ive seen all of you girls, every single one of you grow to become someone you are today. And, i bet you girls are going to say, ive changed alot too, in my own very ways :) hehe. i know, i know :)
So here is what that has changed us to the individual we are today, the team we are today. With the seniors stepping down, the J2s got to be independent, training on our own, morning runs, coach trainings, etc. I vivdly remember myself, cheryl and nabilah taking turns to take over trainings. plus, ms lin and ms tan being very supportive to be there and guide us through as well as coming back to school during the holidays so that we have equipments to use. Remember how we bought our own sticks? Salming vendors, then changed to blast. etc. It happened so fast, that we proceeded to 2010. The J2s, being bonded, more active, fitter, faster in terms of running and all those sweat from the Morning runs, gym trainings, coach trainings, last minute friendlies, valhall games..we did it all and we were gettting more muscular bodies, dint we ? :) and our goalie, Ruijing, getting a hang of her role :)
It didnt stop there! 2010, we trained very hard, especially for beep test. how scary could it sound? we were fighting together as a team of 11 to make it to the adiv team as one. we trained hard, you girls never stopped listening to my nags and never stopped understanding the meetings i set. i know, i sound so strict at those times, but, it was worth it if you ask me now. i see everyone working harder, more serious about floorball and people are talking about floorball. how time changes everything, dont you think? :) im so so proud. and, you girls worked with me and the teachers, ms lin and ms tan well, setting up the booth for Open house and CCA. We really attracted alot of girls compared to previous year. hehe. its an achievement. im so proud of you girls. really really :)
So J2's, we had our new batch of girls with us and there you go, we had the 2010 team. HELLO J1'S! And, j1s, while the J2s were so actively and busily working hard in morning runs for ADIV, you girls were still getting to know each other, understanding our hectic trainings and commitments. plus, some of you are always missing morning runs. *ehem ehem*
hehehe. however, you girls, though took a super long time to be on time for morning meetings, runs and trainings, i see the effort. but, no more of that pls J1s, time to get your discipline right. youve got to start your trainings on time to make the best out of it. :)
And the floorball camp, im so glad it was a success! thanks to the exco members, Cheryl, Nabilah, Sabrina and Qimin for working with me. And, ms lin and ms tan. Also the seniors that came down! Plus, our campers. hehe. everyone made it happen. im so proud once again.
So ADIV period was the climax. we did our best. ive seen all the J2's played to their maximum potential.
Cheryl, our vice captain, always so cheerful and she never stopped reminding me to calm down. hehe. plus, she really ran alot!
Qimin, our small and cute treasurer, played her way well as a defender, did so well, im so proud! im loss for words to praise you qimin! hehe. been playing in adiv with you since last year! :)
Lynn, our only J1 that is experienced! She played for destiny and rogue line respectively. You have been a great player and grreat help. you even pushed myself beyond my limits on court. you made the J2s work their assses off hehe. keep that and pass it on to your teammates. they need you for guidance alright :)
Giselle, our fastest runner in the house. hehe. always sprinting but sometimes, always falling, but no matter what, you also pushed me beyond my limits. also, you did great in the games. great partner on court, i must say. remember me reminding you? just shoot. just shoot! :) hehe.
Lilin, our defender. You have changed, from the girl that always MIA, hehe, but came down for morn runs on time and even ran at teletubby hill on your own! hehe. so cute. and you, with the long legs and the most chatty girl in the team. haha. but, you did displayed your best potential on court too. i cant believe you telling me, 'i mst play for adiv, its okay if i have fever.' so determined. i like. :)
Yanlin! Heheh, our ah lian. HEhehe. always fierce and agressive. You really became aggressive towards the adiv and you awed coach too! you played well. and im still reminded by my blades hitting your lips til its swollen. so sorry! but, yes, you defend so well :) dont angry ah ah lian :) hehe
Zalifah. the quiet and new girl in house. hehe. always so quiet but our amphoteric player. she is both defender and forward. hehe. so amazed by a determined player like you and esp when you only joined us months before adivs. you played so well for a few months of training :)
Nabilah, our green freak QM. hehe. suddenly like greeen right? :) anyways, you have changed alot too. despite your leg giving you problems you never fail to do your best in the runs and i will never forget it because ive been with you for morning runs, PE runs, everything! heheh :) great job girl. you also never fail to practice your shots :)
Rachel, our smart forward. always so studious and yes, you did well for adivs too. you really ran and you really improved alot. being a forward, you always helped out your partner and never fail to heed advices and instructions given. thumbs up! :)
Sabrina! You have indeed improved alot too! You even got to pass your beep test and prove coach that you can. although you didnt play much in adivs, but when you got to play, you played so well, im so proud of you! you've improved in terms of both fitness and skill :)
well done sabrina! all those morning runs ive accompanied you, PE runs, you survived them!
Last but not least, our GOALIE ruijing! Always so quiet on court but finally shouted to direct us on court in adiv. amazing. you've improved alot too! you never fail to improve every training and learn new tricks from coach and seniors as well as being our goalie, was a brave role! welll done ruijing!
SO THE j2S, ITS TIME TO MUGGGGG FOR ALEVELS. we can play together someday, but for now, lets excel in our studies. though adivs is over, we have fought hard and we never regret anything. so lets move on girls :) love all of youuuu
:))
NOW, the J1s. The seniors have gone through thick and thins together. Its your turn now. its not going to be easy. a tough ride but not impossible. anything is possible. with us stepping down, you girls gotta be independent, learn as a team, seek help from lynn, she's someone you girls can ask for help in terms of play on court, ask ms lin and ms tan or ask coach, when he comes down for training. never stop your morning runs. its a tradition already. you girls should think of the NJ players. they are J1s and they will face you next year. they have experience the adivs, so now, you girls need to work hard to be at their standard and perhaps better!
so girls, commitment, discipline, hard work, does not come easily. every single one of you play a part and whoever makes captain will have a hard time but she needs every single one of your help. she isnt a superwoman. thus, work hard as a team and learn from one another alright? and, play more friendlies for exposure. in fact, play with the same school as many times you can. you will see yourself at better stake in adivs next year.
BUT GIRLS, its not all about floorball. you have to juggle your studies too for midcourse exams :) so work hard and play hard. when you are free during weekends, go for a long jog on your own, work on your stamina if you feel lagged behind. its never too late unless you give up now. and, im aware of the new girls in the team, also the hockey girls. bring them and make them feel as one with you girls. must bond together and be a team okay? i know and have faith in all of you!
to every one of you J1s, its your turn to shine!
:)
love,
Nadia :)

Hi girls!
Study break has started and i suppose, most of the seniors, J2s are mugging real hard for block tests. it should be that way or else something is wrong with you! haha. Plus, j1s, you should enjoy ur one week break and spend some time catching up with your work too, its worth it :)
Floorball camp has ended with sweet memory. Why?
We our first friendly match of the year. 8-6 against NJC.
You girls should give a pat on your shoulder for yourself and all your other teammates plus, our seniors that came down to support us as well as ms lin and ms tan :)
HOWEVER, this is NOT THE END!
A DIVISIONS will be commencing soon and this means more than anything else.
Remember girls, complacency will lead to us being not able to achieve our goal. We aimed to be in TOP 3 and we aimed to do our best and have no regrets such that we could lift our heads up high when we leave the court. This is what we want and this is what we will work hard for, for the next few weeks. we still have time!
So, reflect on the friendly match we had with njc and also nyjc.
Each of you have to write down your strengths, your weakness and what you could have improve on for each of the friendly match. At least THREE points each. Please write them down on a notebook (get one floorball notebook, small one will do). We will have a meeting on this when school reopens.
Reminder, no trainings this hols, BUT, do your own runs at the nearby park and do your own dribbling at home, 5 mins a day will do. Dont slack and be prepared to train intensively when sch reopens. A DIVISIONS are almost here.
J2's all the best for your block tests! And, J1's, see you all soon.
